Rocky Mountain Energy Center
TZA provided engineering services for the development of an alluvial well field along the South Platte River near Fort Lupton, Colorado. The well field was designed to provide over 3,000 acre-feet per year of process water to the Rocky Mountain Energy Center, a 600-megawatt natural gas fired power plant located near Keenesburg, Colorado. TZA prepared bid specifications, recommended award of a contract, and provided construction oversight during all phases of construction. Monitoring wells were initially constructed and tested at several locations to identify the best location for construction of a high capacity well while minimizing the footprint of the well field. The sustainable yield of the well field was evaluated, and technical assistance was provided for permitting the wells. TZA provides ongoing engineering services related to maintenance of the well field.
